Skechers is an American shoes organization that makes stylish, informal sneakers for men and women age groups 19 to 40. The multimillion-dollar organization generates over 900 different shoes styles in developing features in Chinese suppliers, Romania and South America. These shoes are available at large shops like Macy’s and Nordstrom as well as at 38 of its own stores.

Skechers was established in 1992 by store industry expert John Greenberg, who had previously created women sports wear brand L.A. Tools in 1983. In his profession, Greenberg had sold hairpieces to beauty companies in Birkenstock Boston, brought in designer blue jeans for store marketplaces and held his own curler skateboarding shops.

By 1997, the organization started selling sneakers offshore in south Japan and southern European countries. By 1998, 15 percent of the organization’s profit came from offshore market places. The unique goal of Skechers was to provide men with informal nonathletic shoes. The major manufacturer of male’s sneakers at the time was Nike, but it didn’t offer very many road sneakers.
